Canada wins the Enrique Padilla Award

Presented to the best delegation at each MILSET ESI, based on organization, registration, spirit, project quality, and overall contribution to the MILSET ESI event. This is the first time in 12 MILSET ESI events that the award has been won by Canada. The award is named in memory of Enrique Padilla, an early founder of MILSET from Argentina who was killed during a period of turmoil in that country.

I-SWEEEP Awards

Two Canadian Students, Jessica Ngai and Roopa Suppiah, have been invited to apply to the 2010 I-SWEEEP event.

12th Expo-Sciences Internationale (ESI 2009)

MILSET, the International Movement for Leisure Activities in Science and Technology (Mouvement International pour le Loisir Scientifique et Technique) is a non-governmental, non-profit and politically independent youth organisation, which aims at developing scientific culture among young people through the organisation of science-and-technology programmes, including Science Fairs, summer camps, youth congresses, seminars, etc. and experimental activities of high quality.

This is a fabulous opportunity to make friends and experience cultures from across the world. Twenty students, three delegates and the team director from Ontario will be selected to attend the International Science Exposition in Tunis, Tunisia, 23 - 29 July 2009. This is a non-competitive science fair held every two years. Students will take posters of their projects, but not their backboards, for display and discussion. Students selected will have an ability to handle the unexpected with humour and grace, and to get along well with students from other cultures.
